Samantha Ma
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#153109)
I’m Samantha, and I work with busy, high-achieving couples who may be doing well individually but feel disconnected or misunderstood in their relationship.
Many of the couples I work with are balancing demanding careers, competing priorities, parenting stress, or blending different backgrounds and expectations. Often, the very strengths that helped you succeed professionally — independence, discipline, and problem-solving — can unintentionally create distance and disconnection in your relationship.
After more than a decade working in high-performance environments, I returned to school to pursue marriage and family therapy because I wanted to help couples like you create stronger, more connected relationships. I understand firsthand how the pressure to achieve and manage everything efficiently can leave couples feeling emotionally disconnected.
I completed my graduate training at Northwestern University’s Family Institute and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and trauma-informed care. In our work together, I help couples identify the patterns keeping them stuck, improve communication, and rebuild emotional connection and trust.
I also work with couples navigating infidelity, parenting stress, life transitions, and relationship ruptures. My goal is to help both partners feel more understood, supported, and securely connected in their relationship.
